Large cake with printed topper beside cupcakes with small printed toppers

Cupcake Toppers vs Cake Toppers: Which Size Do You Need?

The most common question we get: what size topper do I actually need? Here is the simple answer.

For one cake: a single round

Our single cake toppers come sized for 5, 6, 7 and 8 inch round cakes. Measure across the flat top of your cake (not the base) and choose the closest size. The topper should sit inside the top edge with a small margin of icing showing, which frames the image nicely.

For cupcakes and cookies: 12 per page

Our 12-per-page option prints twelve 6cm rounds on a single sheet. That size is perfect for standard cupcakes and our own cookies, and one sheet themes a whole batch for less than the price of two single toppers.

Rule of thumb

  • One centrepiece cake: one large round.
  • Class treats, office shouts, party favours: 12 per page.
  • Both? Order both with the same design and everything matches.

Not sure?

Choose "print as provided" and we will print your file at its natural size on an A4 icing sheet, or get in touch and we will size it for you. Everything ships overnight across New Zealand.
